I can't say if these tongue scrapers work better than others, but they work. I got two because I spend several months out-of-state in Arizona and thought to keep one there, rather than have to bring it along each time from New York and back again. Just simpler. I have only collected a thin film when I've used it, and I'm not sure it's even bacteria since there is a lot of liquid that comes out. I bought these because in the past my tongue was often coated. I don't know if the products have cleared my tongue of the bacteria or my consumption of extra greens in my vegan diet or other supplements I've been on recently took care of it. I still am happy I purchased it, and think it works better than using a toothbrush.
